M.O.M.Y

Mothers of Murdered Youth was organized in an attempt to raise awareness about increasing violence against children. First and foremost MOMY is a support for families who suffer a devastating loss to violence. In addition, MOMY strives to keep the public focus on crime prevention.

The members of MOMY act as support to families affected by murder. In doing so members:

• attend the funerals of murdered children,

• provide listings of pertinent phone numbers to families,

• open hearts without judgment

• show support at court proceedings

• offer assistance with media upon request and

• provide ongoing support.

MOMY also concerns itself with the prevention of violence. In doing so members;

• Hold rallies and walks against violence.

• Host candlelight vigils.

• Organize memorial events.

• Give public talks on the subject of violence as seen from a victim.

• Post antiviolence billboards.

• Post antiviolence bus signs.

• Support events hosted by other organizations.

MOMY is looking for Mother's whom are willing to start up a program in their community. We need help in spreading the word. You do not have to be a victim to join MOMY. You must be someone with a heart willing to fight to save our children.

MOMY is a community service provider for Colorado Springs, Colorado. We reserve the right to refuse this service to anyone. Anyone seeking to perform community service for MOMY will require a recommendation by Parent of Murder Victim or member of MOMY.
